Play and Compete
Play and Compete
“Tennis is not just a sport you learn and train – it’s a sport you play, feel, compete and enjoy every step of your journey”
At our coaching program, we believe that tennis is best enjoyed through active play—whether recreationally, socially, or competitively.
By engaging in matches outside the structured setting of a lesson, players begin to enjoy the game of tennis truly. This experience builds their love for the sport and deepens their understanding of their strengths and areas for growth, making their coaching sessions more meaningful and effective.
We encourage all our players to play tennis beyond their lessons, whether that’s having a casual hit in the park with friends and family or getting involved in competitions and tournaments. Matchplay at any level is an important part of a player’s development.
We aim to make playing matches feel natural and enjoyable, just like participating in any other sport. During our lessons, we focus on developing technical skills and teaching players how to play tennis, so they feel confident and excited to compete from an early stage.
At the end of every half-term, we incorporate competitive match play into our sessions. This allows players to apply what they’ve learned in a match setting and helps normalise competitive tennis as part of their overall development.
Whether it’s a friendly game at the club, a match against parents, or participation in league fixtures and external tournaments, we want every player to look forward to the challenge—and the fun—of playing tennis.

Our Internal Events
- Box Leagues
- Internal Clubs competitions
- Grand Slams Competitions
Our events are led by our experienced coaching team and are designed to offer a supportive and educational match-play environment. Unlike traditional tournaments or league matches, our coaches are actively involved during play, providing guidance and encouragement to help players get the most out of their on-court experience.
These events are not focused on results or identifying a single winner. In fact, our tennis festivals do not declare an overall champion. The true aim is to allow players to apply the skills they’ve been developing in lessons in a match setting—building confidence, game awareness, and a love for playing tennis.
External Events:
External Competitions – LTA Youth Tennis (Ages 4–12)
Whether your child is just beginning their Mini Tennis journey or has been playing for some time, there are plenty of exciting opportunities to participate in fun, inclusive competitions.
Competitive play is a fantastic way for young players to apply the skills they’ve developed in lessons, while also learning the values of fair play and sportsmanship. These events offer a chance to compete against others of a similar level in a supportive and encouraging environment.
